An Aruban investigation into Natalee Holloway's disappearance is in its "critical last phase," according to the lead investigator.
Gerold Dompig, Aruba's deputy police chief, told the television show "48 Hours Mystery" that investigators believe Holloway's body was moved and reburied - perhaps more than once. He said police are planning a new search for the body near a landmark lighthouse on the northern tip of the island.
Attempts to reach Dompig for comment were unsuccessful. His remarks will be aired Saturday night at 9 on CBS.
Holloway was 18 when she disappeared May 30 on a trip to Aruba with fellow graduates of Mountain Brook High School. In the intervening months, police have arranged dozens of searches for any sign of her, often using ground radar and cadaver dogs. Many of the searches have centered on the California lighthouse.
In the interview, Dompig cites the emergence of a new witness who claimed he knew a specific burial location.
"The information that this person gave was too specific to be just a story that was just made up by someone," Dompig said.
According to a promotional video for the show, Dompig also said the investigation centers on Dutch teen Joran van der Sloot and Surinamese brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe but could broaden to include others.
The video also says Dompig accuses Holloway's family of sidetracking the investigation.
Beth Twitty, Holloway's mother, says Aruban police have been unhelpful in the months after her daughter's disappearance.
Twitty told The Associated Press she's aware of the program, but had "no idea" how it would be presented.
"I'm just waiting to see it Saturday night," she said.
